100 Days to go

100 Days to Go to the Olympic Games

In 100 days the "greatest show on earth" will come to this country.

In three weeks time the Olympic flame will be lit in Greece and in four weeks it begins its journey around the country. The torch comes to Lincolnshire on a couple of occasions but the main visit will be on June 27th when it winds its way through Lincolnshire and arrives at Lincoln Castle Academy. During the day the Lincolnshire School Games will be taking place where over 1500 budding athletes will be taking part in a range of sporting activities.

There are so many ways to get involved. Live and Learn like a Champion is now in all schools in Lincolnshire and is looking to engage with 75,000 children. Schools have started to do events linked to the curriculum, plus many other special projects linked to the Games. Is your school doing something special? We would like to hear about it. We have commissioned Lincolnshire film company Electric Egg to capture a number of events that are happening as well as to create a lasting archive of things that happened in Lincolnshire. In order to do that we need your pictures, DVDs, storied, poems, anything that is related to the Games. Your work will be saved for people in the future, so that they can see what impact the Games had in Lincolnshire. Although the Games are in London, we are very keen to make sure we have a share of the fun. Please send your entries for the archive to

olympics@cfbt.com

There are also a number of competitions. The latest is called "Grin & Bear It". We are looking for photographs that are linked to the 7 Games values. Why don't you take part? All you need to do is to take an interesting picture linked to the Olympics or Paralympics, complete the application form which you can find on the website and then send them to us at bear@cfbt.com. we will do the rest. There are lots of prizes to be won each month, so go on have a go. We look forward to receiving your pictures.
